In February, Sony took to the stage to reveal their next generation console, the Playstation 4. This May, it's officially Microsoft's time, where they have scheduled an event Xbox related, with the tagline "A New Generation Revealed".
"On Tuesday May 21st, we’ll mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment," Major Nelson wrote.
"On that day, we’ll be holding a special press event on the Xbox campus and we invite you to join us via the live global stream that will be available on Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE and broadcast on Spike TV if you are in the US or Canada.
"On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles,…

So, last year I wrote an evaluation essay for a college compositon class about the game Alan Wake. Below is the full text, hope whoever reads this enjoys it.
Alan Wake: More than Just a Video Game
If a video game exists today that can be called a work of art, it’s Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake. As a game, Alan Wake’s genre is “third-person shooter/psychological thriller”. The game isn’t strictly horror-based, just as it isn’t strictly a shooting game. Rather, the game is more about survival and telling a story in a similar way to some of the best novels written by Stephen King himself. Like King’s novels, Alan Wake has a story that is full of vivid descriptions, foreshadowing, and cliffhangers in addition to the actual horror elements…

If I may remember correctly I found out about Alan like 2 or 3 years ago on a YouTuber's Gaming Channel. And I instantly got hooked. I loved the graphics, the story, the characters, the achievements, the items, the songs and the weapons! Everything was INSANE! And when the American Nightmare game came out earlier this year it reminded me of all those memories.

"Ordinary" could be the setting of the next Alan Wake game. In the alternate reality blog, This House of Dreams, that Sam Lake commented on in July 5th, a woman named Samantha has recently bought a house in the town called "Ordinary", (which could be the exact town that is located in Virginia with the same name). Samantha also found a shoebox in her attic that contains poems from Thomas Zane and pictures with a man and a woman in a boat with their faces smudged with black ink. (most likely Thomas Zane and Barbara Jagger). Ordinary, Virginia is right next to the ocean and could be connected to Alan's last words in the end of Alan Wake (Season 1): "It's not a lake, it's an ocean". The shoebox, that Samantha found, dissapeared for 3 fictional …

Hey Guys,
So yesterday, I updated the default achievements for the wiki.
I have now added 4 more sets of achievements you can earn from either:
1. Editing either Alan Wake (Character), Insane Alan and Mr Scratch. I only want the "Alan Wake (character)" on these three characters. If the tag is placed on any other character for cheating, then you have been warned...
2. By editing any Character article that has the "Characters" tag on it.
3. By editing any Achievement article with the "Achievements" tag on it.So that adds another 1140 points to earn! :D
Thanks again,
Charlie

Hey Everyone, this may be old news to some of you, but the Poets of the Fall (aka Old Gods of Asgard) released a song a while back entitled "War." It is actually one of my favorites by them, and while it might hold some symbolic references to the Alan Wake series, there is nothing really explicit. But what you might not know/have seen is the music video for the song....which is nothing less than awesome. Featuring Ilkka Villi as Alan Wake. So for those of you who have not seen it, enjoy, if you have seen it before, why not see it again? link

Remedy Entertainment has announced that within the spin-off Alan Wake's American Nightmare, there will be an arcade mode entitled Fight 'Till Dawn, which will have players placed into an intense battle with waves and waves of enemies coming after Alan Wake. Wake will attempt to overcome these enemies as he gains new weapons and safe havens and attempts to rack up a higher and higher score. This mode will also feature online leaderboards that will enable you to see who is the best player out of all of your friends.
What do you think about the addition of this arcade mode? I personally think that it will lead to a lot more replay value in the game and it seems pretty cool.

It's a PC gamers dream! What started out as a rumor when the game was found on Steam's registry just yesterday, it has been announced that Alan Wake is indeed coming to PC.
In 2005, the game was originally going to be on the PC. Throughout the years, the Xbox 360 and PS3 were added to that, until finally the game only came out on the Xbox 360. Finally, the PC gamers dream has come true.

Earlier today, Alan Wake was found on Steam's registry. This could be all that is needed to confirm the existence of the PC release, after Sonic Generations was also placed on the registry, where the PC version was later confirmed and released.
Just after the reveal of Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Remedy’s Aki Järvilehto said in an interview:
“We have received feedback from a lot of PC gamers, and I have to admit that yes, we somehow ignored that. Let’s see if in the near future we could have some positive news to tell you about dating!“

Remedy Entertainment have revealed that they are working on an Alan Wake game, however, it is not Alan Wake 2, neither is it more DLC.
"Oskari Häkkinen said "Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that, yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC. The rest we're saving for our official announcement when we'll actually SHOW YOU.""

It's been a while since the last Alan Wake-related news. However, it looks like Alan Wake 2 might be coming soon!
Althea Gata, an artist who worked at Halon Entertainment in April 2011, mentioned having worked on in-game cinematics for Alan Wake 2 on her LinkedIn page. This bit has since been removed. Halon Entertainment is a company responsible, among other things, for the Deliver Hope live-action trailer for Halo: Reach.
Alan Wake developer Oskari Hakkinen said last year that Microsoft had the option to pick up a sequel to the original game and suggested that the second game would be developed more quickly than the first time, which was being worked on for 5 years.

So if Alan Wake 2 were mae, this is what it should contain:
- Taken Animals that attack. These can vary from dogs, to wolves, to deers. Each have their own attack, e.g. Dogs will bite you, wolves will pounce at you, and deers will charge at you.
- Melee weapons, such as baseball bats, chainsaws and knives (The Taken can use them, why can't Alan?)
- Atleast 10 episodes in the main game, compared to the 6 episodes (excluding DLC)
- Co-Op missions
- You could have an arena battle where you are fighting waves of Taken and Taken animals.
- If multiplayer was added, the arena battle could be part of it, along with playing death match. What you could do is have 2 teams of five people (5 humans from the game, and Taken types and lets just go from there with Multipl…

Should there be co-op in Alan Wake. Maybe Alan and Barry or even Alan and Alice and you have to stay close to each other or Alice freezes up! But then it would destroy the whole "helpless man, alone in the dark" tension that makes the game what it is. What do you think?
